Day 3 At Disneyland

Kameron loved the characters too. He would laugh, smile, and touch them.

Day 2 At Universal Studios

Kenner tried so hard to give Spongebob Square Pants a hug.
"Can't.. Make.. Arms.. Reach!"

It was kind of an odd day at Universal Studios. Strangers, even Dora the Explorer, would approach Kameron and comment on what a cute baby he is. Now, I'm his mother and all and he is a rather cute baby, but is it really necessary to have strangers come up and play with him for minutes on end and ask to take a picture of him with camera phones. Come on folks!

Brian and I were really excited to take Kenner to Universal Studios because they had his favorite characters there. Dora, Shrek, and his ultimate favorite, Curious George. I think tears came to my eyes when I saw how happy he was when he got to see Curious George. Let's say that it was a Kenner Day.

Day 1 At Disneyland

We planned to be in Southern California for a week. 3 days at Disneyland, 1 day at Universal Studios, 1 day at Sea World, and then of course, a beach day.

We arrived at Disneyland and I think Kenner had no idea what to expect. He said he could see it from our house, so the long drive and then the magical experience had Kenner by surprise. He was looking at everything with amazement. It was priceless.

Kenner loved the characters. We were actually surprised when he would walk right up to them to give them hugs and kisses.

How appropriate to have the Mortician with the hearse.

The Haunted Mansion was awesome. Kenner loved seeing skeletons and ghost and Santa Claus. Yes, that's right Santa Claus. The Nightmare Before Christmas took over The Haunted Mansion. Kameron enjoyed the ride too.

The Trip Begins in Vegas

The Bartlett family tries to do a family trip together every two years with each child taking a turn to plan it. This year it was Brian's turn to plan, so with a unanimous decision, we decided to go to Disneyland. On our way there we decided to break the driving up so we stayed in Las Vegas one night. Kenner was in awe with all the lights. Luckily, that's all he was looking at. In case you don't already know, Las Vegas is not a family oriented city. The M&M store pleased Kenner.

If anyone knows Brian, then you know how much enjoys magic. Chris Angel, an extraordinary magician, facinates Brian. One trick that he did was at the Luxor in Las Vegas. He had a random guest sign one of his cards to claim orginality. He started to throw the cards at this glass door. The card with the guests signature got stuck in the glass door and it is not going anywhere. It is unbelievable. Brian had to get his picture taken with the card.

Kenner Gets His Bike

When Kameron was born we kept saying that we would get Kenner a bike. Well, 6 months later he got his bike. He loves riding it. To our surprise he learned to pedal right away.

Kameron Is Adorable

Kameron started to make what I call "The Old Man Face".

Supporting the Broncos. That one's for you Grandpa Lund, Uncle Nate, Uncle David, Uncle Matt, and Uncle Michael.

First time Kameron goes for a swim. The water temperature (colder) didn't fase him. He loved it.

Kenner Goes Back To Say Thank You

We took Kenner back to the Fire Station to say "Thank You" to the firemen who transported Kenner to Children's Hospital. He thought it was pretty cool to see the exact fire truck that he was transported in. Well, he probably didn't care that it was the same one, but it was still a fire truck that he was allowed to sit in that pretty much became the biggest highlight for quite a while.

Time To Celebrate!!

To celebrate Kenner getting his cast off we took him to Chuckee Cheese. I was nervous because he did not like to move his leg. It turned out to be the best thing we could have done for him. It motivated him to walk around from game to game. It was so cute. He was slow, but he did it.

He loved Aunt Amy helping him get around.

The Cast Comes To An End

A friend of ours was kind enough to let Kenner use their Winnie the Pooh with a broken femur so Kenner wouldn't feel like the only one. Her son did the same thing a couple of years ago, which is when they had the Winnie the Pooh made. Thank you Audra. He loved it!!!

We tried to prep Kenner by telling him they would use a saw to get it off. Of course he was still terrified.

It was rather messy and disgusting, but not as bad as we thought considering our Miralax moment we had (refer to the Miralax Works post).

This hospital definitely thinks of their patients. Every time we go, they give Kenner a gift.

Kenner was allowed to keep the bar that went in between the cast. He obviously couldn't walk afterwards so Daddy of course was to the rescue.

Apology

I truly do apologize for quite the delay on updating the blog. As you take a look at the blog, you will see that my life was very busy for a little while. You would think that having two immobile children I would be able to get a lot of things done, but that is not true. Anyway, I apologize and I hope you enjoy these many posts and the more to come.

I Need a Hair Cut

We refused to give Kenner a haircut while he had his cast on. We didn't want to take any chances of loose hair getting in the cast making him itch and going crazy. Instead, we had fun while it was long.

Peace Out Homie

Kenner likes to say "Peace out Homie" as a way of saying bye. I thought I would add the touch of a doo rag for the occasion. He's still learning to make the peace sign.

R-O-B-O-T

I can't fully remember where Kenner picked this up from. I think it was from Dora the Explorer when she comes upon a robot. One night out of the blue, we were getting Kenner in his jammies. When we took his shirt off, it got stuck on his head and he started saying "ROBOT, ROBOT" while he moves his arms in robotic form. Now, whenever he gets changed, we leave his shirt on his head so he can be our ROBOT.
