Denver Trip

We made another trip to Denver in April, but this time without Brian.
Whenever we go there are always so many fun things we do.
This time we played miniature golf and went to the zoo. Of course there were so many other things we did (celebrated cousin Riley's first birthday), but unfortunately these are the only pictures of the activities that I took.

Kameron loves wearing sunglasses, but only for a few seconds. In those few seconds you have to be quick to capture the moment.

On the golf course. Right by the miniature golf course there is a Driving Range. Kenner kept telling me that when he gets bigger he's going to have to learn to play there. Brian would be so proud.

I think it was on the second hole that the boys lost patience with putting the ball only after if stops. They both decided that after trying so hard they would pick up their ball and move it right next to the hole. It's amazing how well they did after they thought of that idea.

So excited to go miniature golfing.

Kameron looking mighty cute in cousin Riley's jammies. The babysitters we had for the boys a few days earlier were a little confused as to who was who and put the wrong jammies on the boys as well as gave Kameron Riley's binkie and Riley was given Kameron's nighttime blanket. Their intentions were good and we're grateful they were able to help us.

Kenner LOVES Grandma's sit n spin. His imagination came alive and he made the sit n spin into a carousel.
We had planned to go to the zoo, but we also knew that the weather was going to be a little colder and possibly rain in the afternoon so we went in the morning trying to avoid the yucky weather. It drizzled while we were there and it was FREEZING. We made the best of it and tried to stay warm for as long as we could before we called it quits.

This picture doesn't show it, but while I was taking this picture of Riley in Grandma's coat Kenner was sitting in the front seat of the double stroller and the stroller started to roll down the hill right in front of me. I didn't notice anything until I looked at Dre and saw her laughing so hard I realized what happened when I saw the stroller in the fence. It truly was hilarious and Kenner didn't get hurt. He hopped right out and made his way to the carousel.

We had the pleasure of being there for a huge snow storm. Grandpa invited Kenner to go with him to get the mail. Luckily he has a cousin his size and was able to use his coat. Grandpa said he was laughing the whole time they were walking.
The family get together that was planned to celebrate birthdays had to be canceled due to the weather, but we still did a little celebration. My mom and dad gave me a cookbook that was the same edition that my grandmother had and passed to my mom. I love it!

One childhood memory I have and will never forget is when my dad would allow me to brush his hair. He would lay on the ground with pillows and I would get the barrettes, curlers, and every girly hair clip I had and would do his hair so nice and pretty. He would even leave it in for dinner because I worked so hard.
It was so fun to see Connor and Kenner carry on this memory.

Easter 2009

As tradition has it, every year we color Easter Eggs. Who doesn't? This was, however, Kameron's first year to actually "help" color the eggs. Kenner thinks it's all magic.

He is so proud of his eggs.

Easter morning after finding their baskets. The Easter Bunny brought both boys two toy animals in their baskets. Kenner got a dinosaur and an elephant and Kameron got a dinosaur and a giraffe.

Red Grandma and Grandpa has an Easter Egg Hunt tradition every year. The boys come home with a little extra change, candy, and toys and they LOVE it.

All of the grandkids on Brian's side minus four.

Kameron's 1st Birthday

Well, if you don't already know Kameron turned 1 year old on February 21, 2009. Yes, that's right. They grow so fast. When we went to Disneyland we picked out a fun plate and bowl set that we will use for special occasions, such as birthdays. Kameron doesn't know how to really eat by himself yet, but he was still able to eat his oatmeal from the special Mickey Mouse bowl. As you can tell, he's really excited about the idea of the bowl. Okay, he doesn't, but he's 1 and he probably didn't care.

Blue Grandma came to Utah for the big day. It was great having her as always and we were accompanied by lots of family members and friends. While Kameron was taking his second nap we hurried to get the party ready. After getting the cake frosted, the presents wrapped, the house decorated, and of course, completing the "Pin the Nose on Mickey Mouse" poster, we were ready.

We played "Pin the Nose on Mickey Mouse" and opened presents. Kameron loved opening his presents. Kameron got lots of clothes, some toys, a stuffed doggie, and a piggie bank. After presents we moved into the kitchen for the cake eating (always the best part). To say the least, he loved it!

It was a fun day and so great to see the love and support of those we love. Kameron is a great blessing to our family and we love him dearly. One birthday down, and many more to go.
Love you Kameron!

Not To Be Forgotten

Okay, so I understand that I haven 't posted much in quite a while, but that is only because I'm a slacker and clearly never got around to doing it. I want to let all of you know that I am always thinking about what I need to put on the blog and I will eventually do it. I have not forgotten about it. More posts are coming soon. I promise!

Shake, Shake, A Shake It

Brian and I were getting ready for the day with a little music playing. Kenner had a ball dancing on our bed (no, we don't usually allow him to jump on beds), but he was having a blast. As were we.

Don't forget to pause the other music playing.

Kameron's First Haircut on February 1st

The time has come. Kameron was desperately in need of a hair cut. It was LONG!!
The Before Shot

Since I was cutting the hair and Brian was holding Kameron still, clearly we were both too occupied that we couldn't take pictures of this monumental moment. Kenner kept trying to help, bless his heart, but he was in the way. That's when we got the idea to have Kenner take the pictures. In spite of the random pictures of his own pajama bottoms, the fire alarm on the ceiling, the window, valance, and our bodies from the waist down, Kenner took some pretty good pictures.
I tried to use scissors, but Kameron's hair is like mine, very fine, so it looked funny.

That's when we decided to bring out the clippers.

Getting washed up and...

...Wa La

Play Time

My Little Heroes

I normally give Kameron some Cheerios to snack on while I'm getting dinner ready. When I looked at his tray every now and then I would notice that the Cheerios were disappearing quite fast. While my back was turned I heard Kenner talking to Kameron so I looked to see what he was doing. I caught him putting Kameron's Cheerios in his shirt pocket. I went to look in the pocket and sure enough, almost all the Cheerios that Kameron was given were in his pocket.

We finally pulled out the walker for Kameron and not to our surprise he would have rather sit. We did get him to take it walking a couple of times.

Denver

We arrived in Denver on Christmas Day and Brian was to return back to Utah on New Years Day, while I stayed a week longer. We all had loads of fun and as always we were always busy. The Friday after we got there we had plans to go ice skating at the near by shopping center on their outdoor arena. When we got there we were informed that the skating arena was closed. Strike #1! After discussing what we should do since the two little boys were so excited about ice skating (I'm not even sure they knew what it was) we decided to try a different arena about 30 minutes away. We all piled in the cars and headed on over. When we arrived we found out that ice skating was not open to the public at that time. Strike #2! This place had games that we could play, but let's be honest, they weren't worth the money so we decided to play Laser Tag. We were all unsure on how the two three year olds would do, but they did just fine. Kenner was scared at first, but after positioning himself in one spot with Daddy by his side he seemed to do just fine.

While we were discussing what we were going to do we saw Kenner dancing to the Christmas music that was playing outside.
*Don't forget to pause the other music before watching the videos*

Kameron has a cousin, Riley, just a couple months younger than him. Riley LOVES to give kisses and for some reason he always targeted Kameron. One can only guess it was because they were always at the same eye level. After about the third time or so Kameron didn't realize that Riley was only intending good deeds, but instead grew to dislike it very much. Now the pictures, especially the video, may look like Kameron is getting beaten up and you're probably wondering why I'm holding the camera instead of protecting my young. Well, it's because IT WAS FUNNY! The video is not very long because I had to help Kameron. Trust me though. It was funny.

This is how Kameron would look after every attac.. I mean .. time Riley gave him loves. He was soaking wet.

For some reason, Kenner and Connor were the most pleasant with each other when they were wrestling. So, we let them.

Cousins enjoying each other's company. Kenner and Connor helped Grandma make banana bread with chocolate chips and Kameron and Riley enjoyed playing side by side.

While we were in Denver we were able to be there for cousin Lexi's 1st birthday. We were so glad we were because it was so sweet to see her eat her cupcake and open her presents. It also gave Grandma another chance to be around all her grandchildren.

Lexy is already a little mother. She was determined to help Kameron to his bottle. She would take it and give it right back to him. While he patiently waited she really seemed to enjoy "helping" Kameron.

We played a game at Lexy's party too. She had a prize for everyone. It was sure a lot of fun.

Thank You Lexy for a fun day. We love you!

Happy 1st Birthday!
