Visit To Santa Brings Out Truth About Kenner's Girlfriend

We were invited to see Santa and pass along our wishes and wants.
Of course, Kenenr fell asleep in the car on the way to the visit so he was grumpy and did not
want to sit on Santa's lap.  We waited a while, at least until Brian showed up, to try again.  After all, he would be even more upset if we left and he didn't tell Santa what he wanted.

We let Kenner watch some other kids go first and then let Kameron go since he's normally laid back.
As you can see, he wasn't so much laid back.  He got off in a hurry.

We talked Kenner into finally giving it a try.  He sat there and sat there having the grandest conversation with Good Ol Santa Claus.

As Santa and Kenner were discussing a matter of things, Santa asked Kenner if he had any girlfriends.  Kenner said "yes".  All of our ears perked up.  Santa asked how many and Kenner answered "one".  Santa then asked what her name is and Kenner said...
"MOMMY".
It doesn't get much better than that.

December Fun 2009

When we went to Disneyland a couple of months earlier we bought a set of Christmas ornaments.  Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, and Pluto.  Kenner hung his Goofy on the tree...

...and Kameron hung his Pluto on the tree.  Of course, Brian has Mickey and I have Minnie.

First family picture in front of the Christmas Tree this year.
Still trying to figure out the camera, hence the blurry picture.

Kenner playing in the first snowfall.

Kameron is always so random.  He absolutely LOVES his Winnie the Pooh blanket.  If he's holding it, he's sucking on his tongue without doubt.  Or, he'll randomly pick a spot and lay on the floor.

Out of the blue Kenner asked if he could wash the last pan in the sink.  Without hesitation I told him to get his stool and have fun.  Enjoy it while it lasts, right?

We tend our neighbors daughter on Thursdays for about an hour and a half.  Kenner and Kaylee are unpredictable when they play.  They either scream and fight, or absolutely love each other company.  This Thursday was a loving day.  They decided to take EVERYTHING out of the toy box and put themselves in it.  To be a kid again.

Kenner was so proud of his design with his trucks.  That's my boy!

Macy's was donating $1 for every letter to Santa to the Make A Wish Foundation.  The boys wrote their letters as to what they want, i.e. Kenner's list hasn't changed order or anything since the first time he told me months ago, and then we delivered them to Santa's mailbox.

Kenner loves The Polar Express.  Absolutely loves it.  We wanted to take our family to Temple Square to see the lights, but dreaded the traffic until Brian had a spectacular idea.  We took trax, I mean The Polar Express, to Temple Square.  It was frigid cold outside, but completely worth it to see the boy's reaction.  He had dinner at the Nauvoo House Cafe and headed back on the train.  On our way to Temple Square it became very crowded with passengers.  Luckily, since we had the strollers we got seats.  So many people would try to talk to Kameron since he was facing that direction and they were only standing right above him (poor kid), but he showed no emotion.  On the way back from Temple Square is another story.  There was a man standing behind, whom I'm sure was very nice, but had numerous earrings on his face.  I don't know why, but Kameron thought he was great.  He kept reaching under the guard to touch his arm and would then smile at him.  I think it definitely made this guys day a good one.

Every year Santa comes around on the firetruck and throws out bags of candy. We are always last on the list since we live right by it. All morning we can hear the sirens in other neighborhoods as we patiently wait our turn. Unfortunately Kameron was napping.

Thanksgiving in Denver 2009

This year we were very lucky to make to Denver for Thanksgiving.  It was a short trip, but definitely worth it.  The original plan was to Thanksgiving Day and arrive in Denver in the late afternoon.  Well, we are always finding a way to surprise family, well, mostly Mom and Dad, when we come into town so we were going to try to leave in the afternoon on Wednesday in hopes that Brian would be able to take off early from work.  Well, he did, but couldn't get away until 4:30, which allowed us to leave a little after 5:00, but we had to stop and get a quick bite, so we didn't actually get on the road until about 6:00pm.  We were going to drive in late and stay at my sisters and then still surprise Mom and Dad by showing up at the house early in the morning instead of later that day, but by the time 11:30 rolled around we were both extremely tired.  We found a "cheap" hotel in Laramie (not cheap at all for what it was), went right to bed, woke up early since none of us could sleep, and finished the trip to Denver.  It was about 10:00am when we got to my parents house.  We parked a couple houses down, called them to tell them we were just outside of Rock Springs while we had the two boys go up to the house and ring the doorbell and wait for them to answer.  Though we didn't get to see the reaction, we were able to listen to it on the phone and it was priceless.

We didn't exchange gifts for Christmas this year.  Instead we put that money we would have spent towards a family that needed help.  We couldn't go without giving Mom and Dad a gift though.  So, we made a family quilt with lots of pictures on it as well as a scrapbook to give to them.

The boys enjoying their time with "Blue" Grandma and Grandpa.

Kenner always looks forward to setting up and watching Grandma and Grandpa's train around the tree.

Kameron didn't remember the train from last year considering he was only 9 months old, so this was new and fascinating to him.  Grandpa was showing him how it works and yes, he is wearing Homer slippers.

Mom and I were so exhausted from watching the boys set up the tree and train.

While we were in Denver the BYU vs. U of U game was playing. Poor Brian was outnumbered by my family and to top it off BYU won. Luckily Brian survived.

My brother came to support Brian in the game.  If you want to call it support.

While the guys watched the game, the girls went to my sisters house with all the kids and wrapped the gifts for the family we adopted for Christmas.  Before the wrapping of gifts we did activities with the kids.  We made gingerbread houses and fingerpainted with colored pudding.

The younger kids were so sad that they couldn't eat the candy instead of putting it on the houses.  We really wouldn't have minded, but the candy was from previous holidays, so it wasn't very good.

They all had lots of fun.  When we were all done we headed back to Mom and Dad's to play games.  Nothing is more fun than getting together to play games with the family.

Another tradition is the guys get a night to themselves (usually consists of video games and now Rock Band) and the girls get to go to lunch or a movie WITH NO KIDS

The boys in the process of breaking the wishbone.

I think you can tell who got the bigger half by looking at their faces.  Next year Connor, next year.

Kameron watching the train with his cousin Lexie.

We purchased a new camera on Black Friday and we're still trying to figure it out which is why some pictures are blurry.  I was so sad when this picture came out blurry.  Lexie, completely out of the blue, layed a kiss on Kameron.  Doesn't get better than that.

We all had a great time.  As you can see, we have made lots of memories.
Happy Thanksgiving.

Looking So Handsome

Just before church.
We couldn't resist taking their picture.  Look how handsome they are.

Fun Before the Snow

We have been lucky to have nice warm weather well into November.  We just had to play before the weather turned to snow.

Halloween 2009

Every Halloween we have a party with "Red" Grandma and Grandpa and the family.

We had a contest between each family to see who could make a Mummy the fastest with toilet paper.  I don't even remember who won.  It was a lot of fun though.

My brother's family came to Utah over Halloween and stayed with us a couple of nights.  Kenner and Kameron absolutely adore their older cousins.  Micah and Mischa came with us to our ward Halloween party.  Mischa was so sweet to follow Kameron around and helped us trick or treat while Micah and Brian stayed back to give out candy.

One of our friends had their little boy as Squirt from Finding Nemo.  It was only appropriate to take their picture together.

Halloween Night

Brian was so sick that night so I had the opportunity to take the boys Trick Or Treating.  We walked over to the fire station that's by our house so Kenner could show them his costume.  They loved it.  By the end of the night and from other Trick or Treatings from church and Red Grandma's work, we have candy that will last for quite a while.

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!!
