What Will We Find?

After we put the kids to bed it's always fun to see how we'll find them when we check on them.  Sometimes the upper half of them is on the bed and the lower half is on the floor.  Or they have their bedtime buddies organized all around them on the bed.  My favorite so far is when we found Kameron in Kenner's bed.  I don't know why they decided that.  Maybe one was scared or maybe they wanted to be silly.  No matter what the reason was, they're brothers and best friends and it shows.

Easter 2011

Every Easter "Red" Grandma and Grandpa do an Easter Egg Hunt at their house.

Jasmine did such a good job finding her basket for the first time.

Of course he's holding an orange egg.  I'm actually surprised he didn't find only the orange eggs.  The boy loves orange.

Kenner loved that there was a pinata this year.  He got to have two turns.  First time he could see.  The second time he was blindfolded.

The Easter Bunny never brought presents in our Easter baskets when I was little.  Just candy, which I was totally fine with.  Brian did get gifts so I guess that tradition was carried on.  Jasmine got teething rings and the two boys got Giant coloring books.  Spiderman and Chuggington.

Me and my sisters wore this yellow dress too.  Mom has done such a good job taking care of this and many other dresses that Jasmine has already and will wear.

We have been so blessed to have great friends that so happen to be our neighbors.  These friends and many others are who I hope my children will always remember.

Lydia (on the right of Jasmine) is six weeks younger than Jasmine. I already know they're going to be BFFs.

Jasmine does not like the grass.  Kenner and Kameron absolutely adore their little sister.  When she is sad they try so hard to cheer her up.

Jasmine's First Easter

My cousin gave Jasmine this coat as a gift when she was born.  The occassion couldn't be more perfect to have her wear this coat.

Lets Go Fly A Kite...

 Kameron got a kite for his birthday and both boys have been anxiously waiting to put it to use.  Either it's too windy or not windy enough.  Finally we came across a perfect windy day in April to fly our kite. 

 They were so thrilled to finally get it up in the sky.

Even Jasmine got a chance to fly the kite.

Kenner Moment

Kenner is growing up too fast.  Not only is he growing out of his clothes way too fast and starting kindergarten in the fall, he is talking a lot more like a big kid, with attitude.  I knew eventually it was going to happen, but I never thought it would happen this soon.  I guess I was hoping the attitude wouldn't show up until he was 18 years old and ready to move out.  Oh well. 

This attitude can be a struggle, but it also has its perks.  Some of the things he says can catch you off guard and put a smile on your face.  My favorite recently goes a little something like this:

Me:  Kenner, will you come set the table please?  (I did say please)
Kenner:  Nope, sorry, leave a message.

There you have it.  The attitude.

Kameron Moment

Brian took the two boys out with him to do some birthday shopping for me.  They were in Walmart in the clothing section when Brian noticed Kameron was not around.  Brian started calling for him and Kameron answered, "I over here."  Brian went around the corner and saw Kameron standing in front of rack filled with extra large padded bras.  Kameron was pointing at them and said "Look Daddy.  Funny, huh?"

"On The Road Again" (to Denver of course)

Kenner is going to be starting school this coming fall so with that in mind we knew we had to make another trip to Denver since we don't know when we'll be able to make it back while he's in school. We made our trip in March. Hopefully there will be another trip in the summer, but there is no guarantee with the gas prices now a day. Anyhow, the five of us arrived in Denver on Friday the 18th. We had to plan accordingly because not only did we want to make a last trip before the next school year starts, but we had also been planning a huge surprise party for Aunt Tin's 40th birthday. The birthday bash was on the 19th and was a complete success. My dear sister was surprised. Really surprised. All with the help of cousin Laura who was in town for the occeassion and family and friends that made it happen. 

I just love this little girl.

 For some reason a few of the nieces are frightened by Uncle Mike, but Jasmine had to let it be known that she likes Uncle Mike so much she fell asleep in his arms.

 While we were cleaning up the party, Kameron grabbed a pillow and waited and waited and waited for us to finish.  On the way to the party he had thrown up in the car.  Luckily it wasn't smelly.  He was fine the rest of the trip with the exception of an ear infection.

Kameron lays around during the clean-up and Kenner and Connor wrestle like bear cubs.  Whenever they're together I think there's something in their brain that goes off telling them to attack each other.

My cousin Laura flew in from San Diego for Kristin's birthday bash.  It was so good to see her.

My mom created a village in the basement out of old appliance boxes.  There is a fire station, a house, a castle, and a barn.  To go with each building, she went to thrift stores and found things to furnish these places.  Fire helmets, a rocking horse, a horse on a stick, cowboy hats, cowboy boots, and the list goes on.  Kenner really digged the cowboy hat this trip.

Last time we made it to Denver we were going to go bowling, but we went at the wrong time and couldn't go.  Kameron was devastated that we didn't go bowling, so we made sure of it that we would go bowling this time.  We did and he LOVED it. 

 Jasmine has become very good at rolling over onto her stomach.  Now she needs to learn how to get back so she's not stuck.

 Jasmine has started her workouts at an early age.  As soon as she is laid down she starts doing her crunchies.  It's actually pretty darn cute.  It's also hard to do as an adult.

 Not only cousins, but best buddies.

 Grandma Time

 One night we let the boys sleep in a tent up in the loft.  They thought it was pretty cool.  They even got to have flashlights.  Kameron had to move to my bed though since sleeping was the last thing he was going to do.  After he fell alseep on my bed, I moved him back to the tent.  He still thought it was pretty cool waking up in the tent.

On Connors birthday we went roller skating.  Lexi got to join us to.  She was soooo cute out there skating so carefully and slowly.  Kenner was a little timid at first, but caught up to Connor and had a ball.  Kameron never got out on the skating floor.

 I found Kameron inside the closet upstairs hiding on a shelf with the doors closed.  Guess what he was doing in there?  Pooping!!!  That stinker!

 One night the power went out until the next morning.  Kenner was scared and worried just like I used to be at that age when the power went out.  Grandma still read books to them while Kameron "held" the flashlight.

As you can see, we always have such a great time when we go to Denver.  The boys love seeing their cousins and getting lots of attention from Grandma and Grandpa and Aunts and Uncles.
